{eco} design: Off Grid House
Some of you may have seen the iT off-grid house already, but I loved it so much I couldn't resist posting about it. Designed by Taalman Koch architects, the iT house is model home for the company's modular homes. You can even rent it for the night via Airbnb!

Feedback Loop
I got a great email last week about a great new project: The Feedback Loop, which launched today (I wanted to post about this earlier, but I'm running around like mad and feeling a little overwhelmed... sorry Pam!). The Feedback Loop Project is a non-profit initiative which links up 25 fantastic graphic designers to create a series of 50 letterpress journals. The paper and stock for the journals was donated by Mohawk Fine Papers's Mohawk Loop eco line. The journals are being sold in Felt & Wire, a specialty paper shop in NY, or you can shop for one online of course.
All proceeds of the project go to Design Ignites Change, an AWESOME organization that presses youth to explore and create solutions for pressing social problems using design oriented forward thinking. After a visit to their site I was totally floored by the scope and success of this program. I couldn't resist posting some of my favourite programs below.....
'Mooko' is a project which works to help solve environmental issues surrounding dairy farming. Anyone see Food Inc.? Then you know all about this. The pilot project proposes using prepaid glass jars that you refill with organic, sustainable milk at a vending machine in supermarkets. The project is designed to help spread awareness of some environmental issues surrounding dairy farming as well as minimize waste, since many milk containers are not recyclable.
Would you do this? I know I would!
Ecode is another neat project - an iphone app (can you make a Blackberry Version please?) that scans barcodes and immediately pulls up environmental information about that product. Gone are the days when greenwashers could pull the wool over consumer's eyes with a few fancy logos! Neat!
Anyway, if you like what you see and would like to support it, pop on over and check out the collection!

In the meantime, help me spread the word!
We've got a new Facebook page.... I'll be posting updates there.
Or, you can follow PGL Mag on Twitter. I posted an open call for gorgeously green homes today.... know anyone who'd like to show off a little? Send me an email.

I was doing a google search yesterday for something completely unrelated, and I saw this in google images...... what a nice surprise. I love this space - home of Jeffrey Moss, photo stylist and filmaker... and master at the art of display.
The vintage thread throughout the home is wonderful.... the entire place feels so nostalgic!
love everything about this....
I can imagine how inspiring it would be to work here...

{vintages}: Haven Vintage
I came across a lovely vintage seller, Haven Vintage. Their industrial style is just as I like it, and the images are styled just right.

Enviroment furniture is without a doubt my favourite source for furniture, outside of my husband's of course, which not unlike these - both use reclaimed wood to create their peices and they share an urban rustic aesthetic that I just LOVE! We're working on getting photos of them soon, so stay posted. Until then I thought I would share new images from Environment - their moody, earthy feel really appealed to me. They have a new line of upholstered furniture now too!

{eco} design: off-grid
I came across this little outpost, completely off grid, and I fell in love with it. Looking at it, I can imagine being there and feeling like nothing matters. It looks so isolated and lonely, but also charming - like you are connected to something... else.
I have had so many amazing moments spent with a horse. You should meet my mare... her name's Annie. In fact, you will! Soon.
So amazing.....

{eco} style: mark tuckey
I wanted to share with you these images of Mark Tuckey's home, the celebrated Australian furniture designer. Mark uses recycled/reclaimed material for his furniture, making it eco-fabulous to boot. These images were photographed by one of my favourite photographers right now, Mikkel Vang.
The following photos are from Mark's site.
Love this.
